St. Ephraim the Syrian Choir presents...

With the blessing and paternal prayers of His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios of Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines, the St Ephraim the Syrian Antiochian Orthodox Choir was established in February 2018 to enrich the community with the sacred art of Byzantine music in Victoria, Australia.

Since then, a small number of young and dedicated group members have been instructed weekly in the sacred art. We hope you enjoy this small compilation of Liturgical Psalms in English, recorded by the choir to share the sacred treasure of Orthodox worship.

"What is here sought for is a sober soul, an alert mind, a contrite heart, sound reason, and a clear conscience. If having these you have entered into God's sacred choir, you may stand beside David himself" - St John Chrysostom

We give all glory to God for this opportunity and ask God to grant length of days to those who supported this project through their prayers and assistance. In particular, we honour those who bring our heritage into life through writing Byzantine music pieces in English.
